Study Days

Our study days are a great way to increase your knowledge about a topic of interest to you. The in-depth days are led by experienced lecturers who are experts in their field.

Full-day programmes normally last from 10.15-3.00 and are held in the Market Lavington Community Hall.

An extra fee is charged to attend a study day. This currently ranges from £38 to £40 per day to include coffee and a light lunch with a glass of wine.

Our 2025 programmes included six days on The Lands of Alexander the Great and two days on the art and culture of Scandinavia.

Our next event will focus on Art, Faith and Empire in the Iberian Peninsula with six study days ranging from Islamic Spain to the Golden Age of Spain and culminating in Spanish Art of the 20th century. On 16 January we will run a day focussed on The Bayeux Tapestry. The programme concludes in April 2026 with six lectures on the Longitude Problem.
